Lioness

I have always been a lover of Zodiac signs. I am lioness! A peculiar one at that! Was born on the third of August many years ago, and I am everything that you have imagined a Leo to be, if not more.Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac and Us Leo people, love and I mean LOVE attention. I enjoy being on the centre stage of my circle like many other Leos, and this makes it hard for one to miss us.

We Leo people are ambitious and our strength of purpose allows us to accomplish a lot. I mean we are scouted by a lion! !! Though some Leos like taking to the stage literally, I am not one for that. The limelight is really not my comfort zone. I am comfortable being in the limelight of the small circle I always keep. My flair for being dramatic should however not be underestimated. I attack issues head on. I tend to appear as aggressive and haughty, it is justifiable! I mean I’m the king of the jungle after all. Them other animals will bow down to the king, batho re ka se lekane re se meenoafter all.

Unlike lions, Leo people are filled with the utmost warmth and enthusiasm and people wanna be surrounded by such. A lion is feared and Leo people are admired. How many times have you heard the saying “surround yourself with positive people?” Leos are those people! Better believe. … We are pleasurable, by default. Injalo lento.

Lions are majestic animals, they are strong and dignified. I need not mention that I am like that as well. I am strong because of the things that I have overcome and still continue to, and I am dignified because I respect others and expect them to respect me in return. My strength and dignity motivate me to work harder in order to achieve the goals that have been set.

I am not a team player per say, but I function exceptionally well in a team because I am open minded and am willing to learn from others. Leos are said to be born natural leaders, Lol, but I am not. I am too autocratic and overbearing to lead. Opinions are the cheapest commodity YES and I got a whole stack of them. It is a Leo attribute after all.

Leos are ruled by the sun (the centre of the universe and the fuel for our being)!!! How great is that? This in turn makes us consider ourselves as indispensable. The world does revolve around us. Our enthusiasm is boundless and we have a generous spirit. Our outgoing and tremendous zest for life says it all. I am not a hopeless romantic like the majority of other Leos but romance is an essential to any human being of any other zodiac sign. Loyalty is very important to us, we do not betray one of our own.

The element associated with Leo is fire, the sun is hot hot!! So is a Leo’s persona! We Leo people are fearless and strong. We are not saying others aren’t. We are just stronger than others, that is all. Courage is distilled in us by default too and our warm hearts draws people to us. When we love, we do it for real. Our charms extend to all, children especially.

Leo strong attributes include: Confidence, Ambition, Generosity and Loyalty. Our weak attribute include being pretentious, domineering, Melodramatic, Stubborn and vain. Us Leo people are very independent and super sensitive, no matter how hard we try to hide the attribute. I mean we are all about pride!!!

Africa under fever siege!

I doubt I am the only South African concerned about the Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) killing our brothers and sisters in other parts of Africa. I mean it is only a matter of time until the false alar cases we've heard of in the country, are actually not false alarms no more. It seems to be spreading from one African country to the next, like wild fire if I should add.

I will have you know that I actually didn't know about the disease until like a month ago, when it brought the huge amount of people to the ground.

Had to conduct a research and share some 411 pertaining the fever:

The virus may be acquired upon contact with blood
or bodily fluids of an infected animal. Spreading through the air has not been documented in the natural environment. Fruit bats are believed to carry and spread the virus without being affected. Once human infection occurs, the disease may spread between people, as well. Male survivors may be able to transmit the disease viasemen for nearly two months. (OMG hey!!)
To confirm the diagnosis, blood samples are tested for viralantibodies, viral RNA,or the virus itself.
No specific treatment for the disease is yet available. (Hence the large number of death reports)Efforts to help those who are infected are supportive and include giving either oral rehydration therapy(slightly sweet and salty water to drink) or intravenous fluids (google them if you don't know them). The disease has a high risk of death, killing between 50% and 90% of those infected with the virus. (I mean...)

The disease typically occurs in outbreaks in tropical regions of sub-Saharan Africa.
The first case of it is said to have been identified in Sudan. ..
This year's outbreak marks the largest compared to previous cases, it claimed many lives.

The virus causes bleeding in and oitside the body. Imagine the amount of pain that one must go through...
It damages the immune system and organs, and causes a drop in the blood-clottng cells.

It starts showing symptoms from the second day up to the 21st day of infection .
The symptoms include:

  • High Fever
  • Headache
  • Joint and Muscle Aches
  • Sore Throat
  • Weakness
  • Stomach Pains
As the disease gets worse it cause bleeding inside the body, as well as from the eyes, ears and nose. Some people cough or vomit blood or have a bloody diarrhea and get a rash.

A vaccine ought to be found before the whole African continent comes to an end...
Really!
